Tomato Art Fest 2010
Booths at Billups Art

Booth fee $200.00
no application fee

Billups Art is hosting booths for the Tomato Art Fest. We have a few remaining outside booths in front of Billups Art, behind Beyond the Edge and on the patio between Billups Art and Drifters. We will be running the same hours as the Tomato Fest and are expecting thousands of people to be walking around and checking out our booths. We will also be hosting the Tomatolympics and drawing lessons for the children.

Setup will be from 7a-9a and you are expected to bring your own tent. If you are interested but do not have a tent, we have four available outdoor booths underneath an awning. Tents are preferred to be 10x10 but if you have a 12x12, you wont get the boot. Splitting booths is allowed, but please let us know. Booth fee is $200, no submission needed.

For those of you who have not participated in a Billups Art Fair, it is an amazing environment with live music all day long and will be even more amazing considering the fact that it is the Tomato Art Fest. Thanks for all of your continued support, we look forward to working with you.

SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY FUNDING (SOF) : DEADLINE JUNE 30

BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Special Opportunity Funding ("SOF"), a project of Untitled artist group, is an artist-driven alternative source of funding and support designed to help individual artists take advantage of unique opportunities that will significantly benefit their work or career development, or to aid artists faced with unusual needs. Visual artists may request grants in amounts ranging from $100 to $1,000 for specific works in progress, upcoming opportunities, or special needs. Untitled does not provide general subsidies for an artist's ongoing work, only for one-time events or needs.

No Meeting This Week - Flood Relief Opportunities - Wade Up and Make a Difference

FLOOD!

In recognition of the horrendous amount of water that smashed through Nashville and wrecked homes, destroyed property and even took a few lives, Untitled's meeting this week is officially canceled. The poster contest will now take place next week. We hope and pray you made it through this disaster safely.

If you're interested in helping out the victims of this flood, there will be an upcoming benefit art show organized by Jeff Bertrand, Dustin Dirt, Jessica Hill and Ash Sivils. The Billups Art Gallery is hosting.

Summer Show Name Revealed - Life Drawing Tonight - Chair-picking Time!

There was a vote... and a name was chosen. Untitled's Summer show is officially named "Sorry, I Arted." It's time to start picking chairs and taking names. Come to the meeting this week if you want to be fa-, I mean, part, of the show. Volunteering is a gas!

In other news... there will be a clothed life-drawing session after this week's meeting. And it's FREE! Read on for details.

WEEKLY MEETING - WEDNESDAY, APRIL 21th, 2010

DIRECTIONS

Woodland Presbyterian Church is located at 211 N 11th St, 37206 (on the corner of North 11th and Garland, a block from 5 Points and Gallatin Road, and right next to Pizza Real). There are driveways (to get to the parking lot) on Gartland, Forrest, and 11th.

PARKING

Unfortunately, there isn't an "artists-only" section of the lot, so park where you find space... dawg.

THIS WEEK'S MEETING:

The superbly talented Patrick Arena will be running this week's meeting - and afterwards, he will head up a one-hour life drawing session from 8:30-9:30. Yes Bueller, the model will be clothed. Bring your art supplies of choice and sketch away.

We will also be picking chairs for "Sorry, I Arted." Are you silent but deadly? Then speak up and help out!

Do you feel any better after watching that video? The outpouring of loathing and horror (and laughter) over last week's announcement was amazing. Feel free to put down your pitchforks, torches, and bottles (Tina - NO! OWWW!). Please! Stop unsubscribing, questioning our parentage and immolating yourselves. We give up. We're changing our name back. And you won't be forced to learn knots in order to participate in our next show. As always, Untitled is open to all the visual arts - macrame included - so keep on doing what you do best, whether that be painting, sculpture, installations, fire-walking or graffiti. (But seriously, folks... who knew the beautiful and peaceful art of macrame could spawn such vitriol?)

Alan Slone and Ron Vrablik (founding members of the law firm Slone & Vrablik)
are two attorneys who focus their practice on the areas of entertainment and
criminal defense law.

Both Mr. Slone and Mr. Vrablik have backgrounds in the arts and entertainment
fields, and met while studying Recording Industry Management at MTSU prior to
law school. Simply put, the two are well acquainted with the pitfalls of the
arts world, having experienced some of them first hand. Having also had limited
experiences with law enforcement during their misspent youths, Mr. Slone & Mr.
Vrablik have found that servicing the total needs of their artist friends
involves some portion of criminal defense work. Most artists appreciate the
complement of services, and Slone & Vrablik is happy to provide them all under
one roof.

Mr. Slone & Mr. Vrablik spend most of their time in Nashville, where they
argue, smoke way too many cigarettes, love their families, and try not to take
themselves too seriously.

Located on Charlotte Avenue, the LeQuire Gallery features work by local
sculptor Alan LeQuire and more. The gallery also offers classes teaching the
fundamentals of drawing, painting and sculpture based on observation of the
natural world and intent on improving technique.

you may park across the street at Park Avenue Baptist Church.
