UNTITLED ARTISTS GROUP : NEWS: Our venue and special guest at this week's meeting

VENUE!
We are very excited to announce our Spring show venue! ICON in the Gulch will be hosting the Barely Legal show. We will be installing in a vacant (available for lease) retail space on ground level.

The event will be in conjunction with a cocktail party/model viewing organized by the development team and will be heavily promoted. ICON is a unique mixed-use high rise development and features a mix of residential, retail shops, and restaurants. ICON is located at the corner of Division Street and 12th Ave. S. in the heart of the Gulch.

GETTING THERE
IMPORTANT! Please enter the building through the SIDE DOOR, not the front door. Thank you.
Little Hamilton is a little street very near 4th Ave. S.
The location is in a mixed residential / industrial neighborhood. The building has the address numbers painted on the side, a door with the Firebrand logo, and an iron studio next door.
If you are driving down 4th ave s, turn right onto Humphreys and then a very immediate left onto Little Hamilton. Building will be on the left near the end of the street. There will likely be a small school bus parked in front of the building.

PARKING
on the street. or there is a parking lot on the side of the building (an automotive company on the corner)

Have an extra folding chair? You may want to bring it just in case.

UNTITLED BOOK PROJECT - STILL IN THE WORKS

Way back in 1996, Untitled members created 100 unique books comprised of sheets of original artwork.

The books were created as a group effort and were sold to raise money for the group.

Since this book was so cool, we are planning to recreate a 2009 version.

Many Untitled Members are interested in participating in this project to be completed in time to sell books at Untitled's 2009 Glow Show. Shelly and Tina are heading this up and will need a witty title for editor. Would you like to help coordinate the book or do you have resources you would like to share? Contact us!

So far we have come up with these guidelines, though they are not set in stone yet:

A sign up page will be created on Survey Monkey
Pages contributed by artists will be 12" x 12"
Artists do a set number of pieces (75-100?)
Contributing artists keep one book each.
All remaining books will be designated to raise funds for Untitled.
Untitled will pay for binding supplies.
25 to 50 artists needed to participate.
Deadlines:

Turn in work by:
Book-assembly dates:
Have books completed by:

(prospective dates currently being compiled)

Other things to consider:

What kinds of binding do we want to consider?
Where will we collate and bind books?
Who will write the Intro and create Index and Table of Contents?
How much will be charge per book?
Participating artists may want to look into the option of ordering 12"x12" paper in bulk.

Send in your images! If you have an image ready for print and will be participating in the next Untitled show, send it to info@untitlednashville.org for possible inclusion in our press release. This is not a requirement to be in the show.

We usually get some press for the show and the press people like to use pictures. This is a good way to possibly get your work published.

Ready for print image of your work that you plan to show in next Untitled show. (One image per artist; please submit an image of the piece you are submitting into the next show)

Images that are not ready to print according to the guidelines below cannot be used.
